Based on the screenshot you provided, the device is currently in an uninitialized state, meaning no TOS system was detected. Did you remove the hard drives? You can shut down, reinsert the hard drives, and then power it back on. If it still says "uninitialized," the upgrade process may not have finished — please refer to the on-screen instructions to reinitialize.

Hi.

Thank you! I reinserted the drives and booted it up and now I can get into the interface. Now updating to the latest version 7.0.1169 and then after that, add the static ip address mapping back and I'm back in business.

This could be a compatibility issue between the hardware and its drivers. We will investigate and follow up with you.
Any updates on this?

TOS 7.0.1188 - the syslog is still being flooded with AER messages.

Please try clearing your browser cache, or use your browser's incognito/private mode to log in again. If you still cannot connect, please visit the link below and schedule a time with our online support team for remote troubleshooting:
https://salesiq.zohopublic.com/signatur ... 97d0be8892
Support has only managed to offer solutions that wasted hours of my time in useless attempts, and now they have even proposed remote assistance by appointment—an additional, unacceptable waste of time, given that it would force me to stay connected the entire time watching further resolution attempts, likely involving requests for multiple restarts or resets: simply not feasible.

As mentioned above, the problem occurred after following first the upgrade procedure on the website and then the procedure requested by support: simply put, the update that was supposed to update the BIOS never did so.

The flashing procedure described in the guides is completely unsuitable for a customer who purchased a finished product: hunting for USB drives, installing software on a PC, dealing with SSH, and writing other code nonsense.

If it were not clear, the only solutions you should be offering, if you were serious, should require zero time commitment on my part. Time is the most valuable thing, and you have already stolen too much of it without resolving anything. Excuses from support technicians—who can do very little if you lack adequate software solutions—do not compensate me in any way.

The only acceptable solutions to make the NAS usable are:
  • Having a file to copy to the drive via TNAS from Windows that can fix things with a single click, which would be the preferable solution.
  • Accessing the system (performing a fourth costly system reset) and finding an update on the setup page that can be clicked to fix everything.
  • Unrestricted access to the files stored on the drives once inserted into a NAS of another brand, along with a full return and refund for this product due to the inability to create usable software.
I am considering reporting you on Amazon for poor software and terrible support policies.

Can you currently log in to the NAS through your browser? If you cannot log in, have you tried clearing your browser cache, or using your browser's incognito/private mode to log in again? If a firewall, security software, or antivirus program is installed on your computer or network, please check whether your TNAS is being blocked by any of them. If so, you will need to remove the TNAS from the block list; alternatively, you can temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus software, and re-enable them after the TNAS initialization is complete.

The BIOS must be upgraded before upgrading to TOS 7. If you can log in successfully, please check whether the BIOS has been updated to MADN0301.V07 or a later version. After completing the BIOS update, you can try upgrading to TOS 7 again.

You can upload the TOS 7.0.0747 update package to upgrade to TOS 7:

Please refer to the first page of this thread, which describes how to upgrade the U4-500.
The U4-500 does not require any additional steps.
