Re: TOS 7.0.0746 Official Release (X86) is Now Available

NO, Install tos6 to update TOS 7.0.0746 THAT is WRONG. From Tos 6; you should first update to the latest Tos 6.0.0794 if not already there. Then you should Update to Tos 7.0.0747 as per this: https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=10183 Tos7 version .0746 is only for Beta users as it cle...

Re: TOS 7.0.0746 Official Release (X86) is Now Available

Did you update from Tos7 Beta? NO, Install tos6 to update TOS 7.0.0746 From what I understand, I should take the NAS and set the BIOS boot priority to the specific drive containing TOS 7. Otherwise, I don't understand why the DAS prevents the system from booting from that TOS 7 drive. TOS 7.0.0746 ...

Re: TOS 7.0.0746 Official Release (X86) is Now Available

TOS 7.0.0746 (X86) F-425 + DAS 4- 320. TOS 7 is installed, clean install. The drives are also clean. The storage pool and other settings are not configured. When choosing "Restart" from within the OS, it fails to boot. After powering off, it starts correctly from the power button, but not ...

Re: TOS 7.0.0706 Beta (X86) is Released for Update

TOS can't be installed on an external USB device. I install TOS 6 normally on a SATA SSD and then move the drive into an external USB-to-SATA adapter. I do the same in TOS 5. This saves me a drive slot in my F2-212 / F4-224.I would like to ask again: is it possible to implement this in TOS 7? Right...

Re: TOS 7.0.0706 Beta (X86) is Released for Update

The current TOS7 design does not support booting from an external disk.

"In TOS 7, if you perform a standard OS installation and then move the SSD containing the OS into an external USB-to-SATA enclosure, TOS 7 will fail to boot, unlike TOS 6."

Re: TOS 7.0.0706 Beta (X86) is Released for Update

"It seems that the release version of TOS still hasn’t implemented proper booting from a USB drive. For me, this has become the main obstacle to upgrading to TOS 7. In addition, file permission inheritance in TOS 6 is terribly implemented. I think I will have to completely abandon TOS."

Re: TOS 7.0.0612 Beta (X86) is Released for Update

An external USB drive (in the sense of a usb case with a SATA DRIVE), as a bootable one, works fine with TOS5\6. This frees up one slot, in F4-425\F2-212. As far as I know, this loophole does not work in TOS 7. Is it possible to leave this "functionality" in TOS7?
