Hello everyone,After updating Jellyfin in Docker, hardware transcoding stopped working. I couldn't get it back up and running, so I deleted the container and recreated it from scratch using the exact same parameters.Transcoding is working now, but CPU usage has increased significantly. Specifically, I/O wait is now taking up about 20–30% of the CPU, which never happened before. The container is installed on a Kingston KC3000 SSD, and the transcoding cache is also located on the SSD. I don't understand why this is happening. Has anyone else experienced this issue after the latest update? Also, is it possible to downgrade to the previous version of TOS 7 to test my suspicions? Right now, I'm considering either a full factory reset or completely switching to OMV.

You may download the latest version of Storage Manager and install it manually through the Application Center.
Download link: https://download3.terra-master.com/Apps ... _amd64.deb
I still have the same error and issue after updating storage manager, also did try reboot.

See same screenshot: https://www.pasteboard.co/RDhX3UxEM1zP.png
I installed the latest version of Storage Manager, and now the operating system detects the mounted USB drives.
The issue remains that Emby does not detect the USB drives — or rather, it cannot mount the libraries associated with paths located on USB devices

We recommend that you review and reconfigure the application permissions (which are distinct from user permissions and group permissions). If the issue persists, please contact us online to schedule a remote troubleshooting session with an engineer. (Please include the URL of this forum post and your forum username when you do.)

I turned on debug mode and have found that one HDD is inactive while the other is active and they swap over every 30 minutes.
This is with the smartmontools service running. If the service is stopped then both HDDs sleep (not confirmed from the log, just from the lack of noise).
Obviously, I don't know what happens with a RAID more complex than RAID1.
I hope this helps someone, somewhere.....
This was supposed to be fixed. Have you seen the same issue come back after the 7.0.0804 update?
Yes, my tests were done after I updated to 7.0.0804.
We have not been able to reproduce the issue you mentioned again on the new 7.0.0804.
We would like to ask whether you have made any manual configurations or modifications via the terminal that may be related to this behavior.

Hi there. Have you checked Jellyfin's transcoding settings?
If the issue isn't directly tied to the 7.0.0804 update, it would be better to open a new thread for it.

Nothing apart from switching off the smartmontools service and that comes back after a reboot or power-cycle. Would you like a copy of the debug system log?

When you connect a USB drive, it gets mounted and is made available to all users. Before the update, Emby could see the drive and read the movies. After the update, it no longer reads the movies. If I try to add the library again by selecting the USB drive, it doesn’t work. When scrolling through the directory list, it shows /Volume1/@usb/usb_generic, but it cannot use it. With TOS 6, USB drives were mounted as sdc, sdd, etc.

No, thank you. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and try to reproduce the issue. It’s possible that the update didn’t take full effect on your device for some unknown reason.

Just for you info: I've found a lot of errors entries in /var/log/syslog

maybe this one should be transmitted to the development team ;-)

2026/07/30 14:15:47 /buildAgent/work/73a954a05c828cac/service/desktop/desktop_dao_user.go:133
TNAS TOSDaemon[15318]: [error] failed to parse field: GroupList, error: unsupported data type: &[]

ChatGPT:
My assumption is that TOS 7 Desktop has a bug handling an admin account with UID 0 and fails when parsing the GroupList field.
The NAS works normally; the errors appear to be cosmetic.
Model: F2-424 with TOS 7.0.1105 - currently changing every month ;-) - Bios V08
you can discuss with me in French, German and English

Upgraded from tos 6.07x > 6.094 > 7.0747 > 7.0804 and now permissions are all borked. I emailed support and they said to manually download storage manager 1.062 and see if that works. I did that and the permissions are all still screwed. No user can write to their home dirs, many files open in read only mode...wtf...first time I have ever had a problem upgrading in 7 yrs.

I got 40tb backed up but at gig speed, will take 8 days to restore....lol..and i had a perfectly working nas. haha.

I did not check explicitly for ntfs on boot usb drive as I thought I had changed it to fat partition some time ago. This is vanilla nas that is used only for smb sharing and no plex or any other non default apps installed. Just wow! Just wow!

edit: I also let it do the auto conversion of files after logging in the first time to tos 7.0804 and now apparently its backup restore time..see you in 8 days ffs...lololol
