Target Users:
Users currently running TOS 7.0.0746 or later versions.
Note:
If your TOS version is TOS 6, please refer to the TOS 7 update instructions first.
Important: This update is only applicable to TOS 7.0.0746 and newer. Users with older versions must first upgrade to 7.0.0746 before applying this update.
Here, we sincerely thank @crisisacting, @snapsh0t, @greentower, @User009, @Gremlin, @ambul, @rfbjr, @weerasak, @Nitrokalel, @Grigorio, @Konstantin, @major65, @zeratyx, @plexjellyfin, @storageninja, @editsmith, @petrose and others for your sharing and feedback. Your support helped us quickly identify and fix multiple issues.
Warning:
If your USB drive or disk is in NTFS format, please postpone the system update and wait until next Wednesday. If you are using the real-time monitoring feature in Emby, Plex, or Jellyfin, please manually perform a "Scan Media Files" from within the application after a system update. This will remove the "do not monitor" configuration lock that may have been left in place, ensuring that automatic scanning functionality is restored properly.
Update Notes
Bug Fixes:
1. Fixed the issue where the resource dashboard time was inconsistent with the system time.
2. Fixed the issue where viewing user group permissions would clear the group's permissions when the user group ID matched the user ID.
3. Fixed the issue where users with a purely numeric username would receive a permission denied error when logging in.
4. Fixed the issue where icons did not adapt to the number of files when viewing files in paginated mode.
5. Fixed the issue where deleting a large number of small files was too slow.
6. Fixed the issue where Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin could not scan media folders in real time.
7. Fixed the issue where Openclaw application installation might fail in certain cases.
8. Fixed various other known issues.
Important Information:
1.Updating the system theoretically will not affect the data on your hard drives, but for safety, please make sure to back up your data in advance.
2.Before updating, ensure that your primary volume (usually volume1) has at least 3GB of available space. Insufficient storage space may cause the update to fail.
3.After the update, the IP address of your TNAS may change. Please use the TNAS PC desktop client to search for and reconnect to the device.
Update Procedure:
1.Go to TOS > Control Panel > General Settings > System > Update, and click "Check for updates."
2.Follow the prompts to update the system.
3.After the system update is complete, you may need to refresh your browser.
4.The TNAS IP address may change after the update. If you cannot connect to your TNAS using the previous IP address, use the TNAS PC client to search for the new IP address.

Re: TOS 7.0.0804 Official Release (x86) is Released for Update
I upgraded to TOS 7.0.0804 specifically because the release notes state:
"Fixed the issue where Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin could not scan media folders in real time."
Unfortunately, after testing, I can confirm the issue still exists on my system.
My observations:
I'm particularly interested in hearing from users who upgraded from TOS 6 to TOS 7.
I would also kindly ask TerraMaster to update the Plex and Jellyfin applications in the App Center to the latest versions, as this may be required for full compatibility with TOS 7.
Additional observation regarding Jellyfin App Center status:
Since an earlier TOS 7 version, I have noticed that clicking the Jellyfin desktop shortcut sometimes opens the App Center first, where Jellyfin is shown as "Not enabled". If I click the Jellyfin shortcut again, Jellyfin opens normally and reports that it is enabled. After returning to the App Center, the status then changes to "Enabled".
This appears to be a status synchronisation issue between TOS and the App Center.

My observations:
- Plex and Jellyfin were installed from the TerraMaster App Center.
- Manual library scans work correctly.
- Scheduled scans work correctly.
- Real-time detection of newly added media still does not work.
- Library monitoring is enabled in both Plex and Jellyfin.
- Folder permissions have already been verified.

You can manually perform a "Scan Media Library" once from the console to reset the monitoring trigger mechanism. This action will override any lingering monitoring status judgments left from before the update and remove the "do not monitor" configuration lock.
App updates are already in the pipeline; certain features currently shown as "disabled" are also being progressively optimized.

I performed a full library scan as recommended. After the scan completed, I added a new movie to the monitored media folder.
Unfortunately, the movie was still not detected automatically by Plex or Jellyfin. Manual library scans detect the movie correctly, but real-time monitoring is still not working as it did under TOS 6.
This issue started after upgrading from TOS 6 to TOS 7.

Media Index Last run now shows correct 'summer' time.
Disks seem to be going to sleep correctly.
That's the last two major bugs off my list.
<A bit later> I may have been over-enthusiastic about reporting the disk sleeping. Yes, they are going to sleep after the set time but they're waking up soon afterwards. I'll try to check later with some more precise timing.

Re: TOS 7.0.0804 Official Release (x86) is Released for Update
You can go to Settings > Library in Plex and check whether both "Scan my library automatically" and "Run a partial scan when changes are detected" are enabled. Additionally, if your NAS is currently performing other tasks, we recommend waiting a moment. Real-time monitoring does not always respond immediately to file additions or removals; occasional delays may occur.

Re: TOS 7.0.0804 Official Release (x86) is Released for Update
Thank you for your reply.
I have checked the Plex Library settings and both "Scan my library automatically" and "Run a partial scan when changes are detected" are enabled.
I also waited after adding new media files to allow time for detection, but the files were still not detected automatically.
Manual library scans work correctly and detect the new media, but real-time monitoring is still not working as it did under TOS 6.
The same Plex/Jellyfin setup worked correctly before upgrading from TOS 6 to TOS 7.
