[Help] Shutdown TOS equals Restart

Post by FlyingAcer »

I have to shutdown my F5-422 twice to get it to shutdown. First shutdown causes a restart.
Same behavior from software and power button.
I have wake on lan and auto power on off. And no power on schedule.
F5-422
TOS 5.1.145
BIOS MAPL0301V06

Hi FlyingAcer,
After the system automatically restarts following the first shutdown, will it shut down successfully the next time?
Please try powering the system on and off without any drives installed to see if the same issue occurs.

It will shutdown on the first attempt with no drives installed. With drives installed it will only shutdown on the second attempt.

All things considered, this is likely a system-related issue.
You can try disabling some applications or services to see if that helps (especially Docker containers and virtual machines).
You might also consider resetting the system:

Shutdown works on first try from software and button after reinstalling drives. Not sure why.
I shut it down twice from software
Pulled drives
Restarted and shutdown using button with no drives
Reinstalled drives
Restarted with button

May I ask if you can truly shut down the software or button for the first time without restarting?

It will shutdown on first try after reinstalling drives. The bios was listed as incompatible with TOS 6.

The BIOS version for the F5-422 must be between MAPL0304V16 and MAPL0304V22, or between MAPL0303V16 and MAPL0303V22 in order to update to TOS 6.
