Hi,
I have F4-210 NAS with TOS 4.2.41-2203011629.
I tried to access it with root privilage with no success.

I tried with ssh root@mynasip -p 9222 and it replays asking the password.
I have inserted my regular admin password, the one I'm using to access TOS via web, but instead of getting root access it keept asking password again.

I did this few times and now I got my root account locked due to 6 failed logins.

I tried ssh admin@mynasip -p9222 and able to access it with my admin account.

sudo su command was succesfully and I seemed to give me root access.

I'm not sure if message that root account is locked that i gop previusly is real a problem or not, but I'd like to clean the root account login status and undestand why the roo@myipaddress procedure failed. I guess it is important should the admi user have a problem.

Please advice.
Thankyou

If your TOS version is 4.2.12 or above, please use your first created acount to log in, then switch to the highest root authority with the same password:
viewtopic.php?t=2350

Ok thanks.

Is the message "root account locked due to 6 failed logins." I get, when trying to access directly with root account, a problem or not ?

Don't worry, this isn't a problem.
