Plex server becomes unresponsive

Post by JasonC »

Hi

I have recently purchased an F4-424 Pro. I installed Plex, gave it all the right permissions (eventually) and all is well. Except after a couple of days, the media libraries are no longer available. I can still access the NAS. However I can not access the media libraries via Plex. The solution is the stop and start the Plex Media Server. especially when away from home (and no access to restart the service). This occurs over and over again. It's not a once-off. Any ideas?

TOS 5.1.145-00320
PMS 1.40.5.8921

Thanks
Jason

You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Plex, then reconfiguring the media library to see if that resolves the issue.

I would love to know how to get plex to go to sleep, giving my disc a rest. That's (sleeping) not something it does according to plex forum.

Ok reinstalled yesterday afternoon. It became unresponsive overnight. So, nope. That's not it. Be great if I could install Plex on the M.2. Low power draw, and would allow the drives to go to sleep. Not an option sadly.

You can go to the Plex official website to download the latest version and see if the same problem persists.

Update: have only had to restart it once since last weekend. So it's not as bad as it was. Will see how it goes this week
