[Help] TOS 6.0.0794 to TOS 7 F4-423 Wants to Initialize

Hi,
I initiated the TOS Upgrade to new 7.0, it went through the process without any error, TNAS PC says shows the device as unitialized, if I try via the browser using ip address at port 5443 it comes up as not found, if I use tnas.local I get initialization screen.
Anyone who can assist here, it looks like upgrade corrupted my drives.

Is your TOS system installed on an M.2 NVMe SSD?
Please refer to this post for instructions on migrating the system or adjusting the BIOS boot order:

Hi I have corrected the boot order, but now its not accepting my logon, I do get the [113.857170] [6141] iscsi-scst: error incorrect version of user space 3.8.0-pre_fcaac1b6df162faca42c44fa4419fc6e14110c5d (expected 3.10.0-pre_fcaa1b6df162faca42c44fa4419c6e14110c5d)

We hope you can answer an important question we’ve been asking: Is your TOS system installed on an M.2 NVMe SSD?
Also, which update package did you use? Did you skip any intermediate TOS 7 versions? Here are the upgrade instructions for your reference:
viewtopic.php?t=10183
Before the upgrade, did you remove any HDDs or SSDs? And did the removed drives contain the TOS6 system?
Do you recall modifying or installing any third-party applications or modules that might be related?
Based on your description, some services failed to activate successfully. However, based on the information provided so far, we are unable to pinpoint the cause of the issue.
It is hard to imagine that software-level changes would cause an HDD failure, but the “HDD failure” you mentioned may be one possible cause of the problem, although this is generally an undesirable scenario.
If you could address the questions above, it would help us troubleshoot the issue. If you need to resume normal use urgently, please at least provide details about your M.2 NVMe SSD and whether the TOS system is installed on any M.2 NVMe SSDs, so we can determine what reset measures can be taken.

Hi,
I did not remove or add any drives, so no impact to TOS 6
I have changed the boot order to my NVME SSD which has brought the system up with logon screen on my browser, I incorrectly thought it was installing onto the HDD however it installed onto the M.2 NVME SSD and I did upgrade from control panel 6.0.0794 to 7.0.0747, Project version is at T1509BG0
I am able to access my shares from both Mac and Windows. It was not a HDD failure as I thought but the order of the boot sequence needed to be corrected.
The issue I am now facing is not being able to logon & since I did not set up a security recovery I am unable to reset the password

Does “Unable to log in” mean you’re getting a message that your username or password is incorrect or doesn’t exist? Or does the system freeze after logging in?
Please check the HDD LED indicators. If they are flashing frequently, it’s likely that a RAID synchronization or file system defragmentation process is in progress, which may be preventing some system services from running normally. You’ll need to wait until the HDD LED indicators stop flashing, then restart the NAS.
If you receive a message indicating an incorrect username or password, or if you’ve forgotten your credentials and haven’t set up or forgotten your account recovery measures, you’ll likely need to reset the system to restore functionality. Please remove the M.2 SSD, access the partitions using an M.2 enclosure or a PC case, and format the second 8GB partition to FAT, NTFS, or another compatible file system to clear any potentially corrupted remnants of the old TOS system. After clearing it, you can reinsert the M.2 SSD into the NAS. (M.2 SSDs do not support hot-swapping; please shut down the device and disconnect the power before proceeding.)
Since upgrading to TOS 7 does not automatically update the built-in USB Initboot to the TOS 7-specific version, you’ll need to open the NAS, remove the USB drive from the internal motherboard, and flash it with the TOS 7 UEFI version of the Initboot image before reinstalling TOS 7. You can then reinstall the latest TOS 7.

Please note that since the disk partition structure is inherited from TOS 6, when the initialization process prompts “32GB/8GB,” please keep 8GB to preserve your data.

It is not accepting my user id and password when attempting to logon, the HDD LED indicators are not flashing, I haven't forgotten my password its not accepting it, I had set up 2 logins both are not accepted. However all my smb connections are there. So pressing the reset button on the board will not work as described here
https://help.terra-master.com/faq/TNAS/ ... -operation, I will follow the steps described, since I have backed up my data.
Thanks for the advice.

Glad to hear you have regained access to your NAS. Would you mind sharing what steps you took? This could also serve as a helpful reference for other customers who run into the same issue.
