Hi

I am seeing the messages below on my console are they normal?

Is there a bios issue?

Why are tasks timing out, I have 24GB RAM?

Thank you in advance.

The issue where the `btrfs-cleaner` process continuously consumes memory or causes the system to freeze is a known problem. When `btrfs-cleaner` is triggered, the only current workaround is to increase (expand) the system's memory capacity; other tasks can only resume normal operation once the `btrfs-cleaner` process has completed.

Thank you for your reply, I already have 24Gb in my F4 SSD so it seems a bit overkill to go and buy a replacement 32Gb card.

Is there a timetable for a fix?

I have see on the web that interactions between quotas being enabled and there being multiple snapshots of can cause this memory issue.

I have now disabled quotas and it seems more stable, is there anything else I can try, please like purging snapshots?

Many thanks.

hi, i had checked md5 and everything is correct.
I have F2-425 plus NAS.
I believe, the boot order is default - i didn't change bios settings.
BIOS version: MTWL0101.V07

In case it will help smbd:
As well option "TOS boot first" was enabled in bios, I was not able to modify the boot order. I disabled it, in boot order moved TOS drive to the end of the list, enable "TOS boot first".
After that I was able to get TOS 7 back and install updates.
Alternatively, it is also possible just to remove TOS recovery drive (depending on nas model, it is a regular USB drive or a USB dom drive plugged inside the nas)

Based on the report you posted above, btrfs-cleaner will consume memory resources until the process ends before executing subsequent tasks. Currently, the best solution is to add more memory modules to the NAS, and wait patiently

Thanks, turn off disk quotas seems to have fixed the issue - the system is now more snappy
