Hello! Regarding the issue you mentioned about setting permissions for the shared folder, we recommend checking whether storage quotas are enabled on the volume or the shared folder. We are aware that if the storage quota is full, it may affect permission configuration for files or folders. If this is indeed the cause, we suggest trying to free up some storage space or temporarily disabling the storage quota function to ensure the permissions can be set successfully.koros1691 wrote: ↑16 Jan 2026, 09:49I noticed it in the Control Panel under the Shared Folder section. If you select a folder that was created in TOS 6, and the press edit at the top, when you attempt to change the Permissions of the share, the Apply button will light up, but nothing will happen when you click it.
Alternatively, if you create a new share in TOS 7, the Apply button will actually work as expected.
Download the file again , and try it.. i think you have a tos 7 file that is corrupt ..PkcDe wrote: ↑17 Jan 2026, 22:37 Hi,
I’m unable to upgrade my TerraMaster F4-425 Plus from TOS 6.0.794 to TOS 7
Setup:
Brand new NAS, no data. Freshly formatted NVMe M.2 (also tried a 2.5" SSD)
BIOS shows only the NVMe as a boot device
What happens:
Boot into TOS 6, Start upgrade to TOS 7 using the official image
Update begins normally. The system unpacks the image and start update. At ~9%, the NAS reboots itself.
After reboot, NAS is unreachable via browser. In TNAS mobile app (latest beta), the device shows as Not initialized
Reinitialization starts from scratch (asking to register the user and email) and always ends up back on TOS 6
Tried:
Multiple upgrade attempts, Different NVMe slots. Tried 2,5" SSD
Same result every time.
Any dvice where to look or what to try?
Thanks.
Thanks for your reply. I did it already: downloaded and tried two different copies of TOS7.
Thanks for the update!TMLila wrote: ↑19 Jan 2026, 11:47Hello! The bar goes to full , and then rebootsPkcDe wrote: ↑19 Jan 2026, 22:29Thanks for your reply. I did it already: downloaded and tried two different copies of TOS7.
The result was exactly the same.
Did you checked if the the installation progress bar went all the way to 100% before rebooting the system?
in my case it goes to 9% and later reboots.
Each time I try to update the OS, the TOS went to its factory default, so it is kinda painful to play around (because of loosing settings).
