Well, I ordered the dongle, but I am not happy.

It costs $39 but $40 for shipping - the thing can't weigh but a few ounces.

Also, it might NOT be recognized: viewtopic.php?t=5257

I wouldn't be happy either, but' in this case, I don't think @TM are the problem.

Grrr. I looked on Amazon, but I didn't see it.

I hope it doesn't take seventeen weeks to get to me.

Nah, not sending them the bill, Trump never pays his bills, as I should know, being a long-time NYC resident.

That starts to make sense, but when you say "select", I assume that only certain models...so can you clarify which models?

… just googled Terramaster RealTek USB Ethernet adapter …
The TerraMaster adapter uses the older RealTek RTL8156B solution, so you'd need to locate ones with that if you want it to work.

The newer RTL8156BG (Windows installs these as a 'RealTek Gaming USB 2.5 GbE Family Controller') doesn't seem to have support in TOS currently.

I ordered the one directly from Terramaster, so I'm hoping it will be OK.

You seem to be very knowledgeable about Terramaster. Do you know why they don't support more Ethernet dongles?

It makes a real difference.

I finally heard back from Terramaster - I'll receive the dongle on August 11th.

Much better than I expected.

I finally received the USBLAN dongle from Terramaster, and I have to say that I'm disappointed.

The speed is not steady and not as high as the other four NAS boxes.

Using FastCopy the four Synology boxes have a steady speed of 115 MB/s, the Terramaster can only get up to 95 MB/s, and if I'm on the internet it drops a bit further - the Synology boxes do not drop the speed at all.

None of the Synology boxes do that, but I am using...I suppose, a superior USBLAN dongle.
