[Help] Issue with CPU temp after update to TOS7

Hi guys,

I've waited long enough, and today I decided to update my NAS F2-425 Plus to TOS 7.

I followed the recommended steps. First, I updated the BIOS to the latest version, and then I updated to TOS 7.0.0746.

After successfully updating to the first version of TOS, I downloaded the latest version available on the forum, TOS 7.0.1225, and updated my NAS.

I noticed an issue with the CPU temperature, and my buzzer keeps triggering constantly.

Below, you can find my Grafana monitoring of the host. Notice the significant temperature fluctuations.

I've checked whether there are any services or indexers running, but I have very few files on the NAS, so there shouldn't really be anything to index.

What should I do next?

Thank you for sharing the Grafana monitoring chart. To troubleshoot the temperature spikes reaching 80°C–85°C, please check the following:

1. Check the Fan Profile: Go to Control Panel > Hardware & Power > Fan Speed Mode and check the current fan mode. We suggest switching to Smart/Standard Mode (or temporarily testing Full Speed) to observe whether the fan speed increases properly as the temperature rises.

2. Identify Spiking Processes: As the chart shows periodic spikes roughly every 10–15 minutes, please check System Info > Service&Processes in TOS (or run top via Terminal app) right when the temperature starts to climb, to identify which specific process is causing the CPU usage surge.

3. Other Potential Factors: If the fan is operating normally but the temperature still spikes regularly, it may be influenced by other factors, In this case, please generate and download the System Report via TOS > Technical Support > Issue Feedback, and send it along with your Grafana screenshot to support(at)terra-master.com and attach the forum link and your forum ID as well, so our engineering team can investigate further.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience. In version 7.0.1201 and later, the CPU temperature alarm threshold is set to 85 degrees. After a restart, some applications consume CPU resources, causing the temperature to rise and then fall back, which triggers a high-temperature alarm notification. We have fixed this issue in a new version. Please wait for the new version to be released.

I'm not really sure I understand what that means. Did you reset the threshold to a higher temp so it wouldn't be noticed as easily. I have also noted (and remarked on) temperature spike in a 425+ which was not one of the models referenced earlier. The business about " consumption of resources" is also a little odd since, when I suggested this might be the case, I was given to believe that it wasn't and Tos7 did nothing more than Tos6.

Which new version would that be?
