TOS7 Migrate system to another disk in TRAID

Post by Pe6yc »

Hi,
I noticed that the system in my TRAID array is only on the first drive. In TOS6, the system was cloned across all drives in the array to prevent the failure of any drive in the array from rendering the system unbootable. Is there a way in TOS7 to copy system files to other drives in the array to ensure bootability in the event of a system drive failure?

In Tos5 the default (and only) option was to have the system drive on all drives. That changed in the development of Tos6. There is a way to duplicate the system drive across 2 drives, but that is the limit.

There are caveats noted in the Help files for this procedure.
F5-221 TOS7.0.1278 - 4x4TB (Ironwolf) Traid
F2-424 TOS7.0.1278 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (HGST) Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.1278 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Btrfs
F2-425+ TOS7.0.1278 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (EXOS) Traid

Add system disk button suggest to select more then one disk to add system files.
UPD: It is allowed to select one disk only, you are right.
