[Help] Rsync not working

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to back up my data from a TNAS to a Synology NAS using rsync. A user named “RSYNC” has been created on the destination system. The rsync service is enabled, and the SSH port is configured accordingly. However, after the first step, the Backup Wizard displays an error message stating that a connection could not be established.

In the terminal, however, both the connection and the file transfer work:

rsync -a -e ‘ssh -p xxxxx’ /Volume1/backup_test/test.txt [email protected]:/Volume1/backup_test/test.txt

I am using the latest version, TOS 7.0.0804.

Firewall? Both using the same rsync ports?

Are there any error messages in the Rsync logs? When creating the backup task, did you select SSH as the encryption method for transfer?

You can also try updating TOS to 7.0.1105 and then connecting again: viewtopic.php?t=10416
