For an F4-424 with BIOS MADN0101.V05, upgrading from 6.0.0794 to 7.0.0747 usually doesn't need any extra steps.

The problem you're seeing might be because some drives in your storage pool still have TOS 6 boot partitions, which can conflict with TOS 7. Once you manage to boot into TOS 7, you can consider migrating the system to each storage pool drive one by one, and finally back to the drive you intend to use as the system drive. This will overwrite all old boot partitions.

Also, the internal USB drive is still running the TOS 6 boot system. To prepare for any future reset of TOS 7, you may refer to the following guide to reflash it to the TOS 7‑specific version:

Bug report !!!
F4-424 Pro with BIOS MADN0101.V07 with 4 HDDs running TOS 6.0.0794. According to the update guide, this should update to TOS 7 with no adjustments or extra steps.

Not for me it didn't

I installed an NVME drive and migrated my system disk to be the NVME. Following that I tried to update to TOS 7.0.0747, but no matter whether manual or automatic, every boot ended up as a full reinitialization of the NAS, (with default profiles and IP addresses, etc) and booted onto the HDDs (NOT my intended system NVME) under TOS 6.0.0794. I think I downloaded the update probably 10 times between the various attempts I made and different options I selected. Each attempt landed back at TOS 6.0.0794 with no errors apparent.

I finally had to update the BIOS to .V08 (I'd avoided it; I'm always wary of BIOS updates), and then it FINALLY took the TOS 7 update properly. I spent a day and a half trying different combinations of update steps before it worked.

I did not lose any data but it was a very prolonged, stressful experience.

Success by:
1. Updated to MADN0101.V08 from .V07
2. Updated to TOS 7.0.0747 from 6.0.0794
3. Updated to TOS 7.0.0804 from 7.0.0747

Generally speaking, it’s unlikely that the issue is related to the BIOS, but we’ll try to reproduce it again based on your usage scenario.

Did you change any settings while using BIOS MADN0101.V07? This could be one of the causes. After updating the BIOS, the settings might be correctly adjusted so the TOS7 upgrade worked.

Logs for each update may be stored in this directory. Please try to retrieve them and send them to our technical support email address for analysis.

I think Darkdan72 problem is not related to bios, it sounds like he originally installed the TOS system on a hard drive and not on NVME SSD, he migrated the system disk to a newly installed NVME and then update TOS 7.0.0747 but the bios still think the boot drive is the HDD and not the NVME. I think all he had to do was switch the bios boot drive to NVME and should not have any problem. Since his solution was flash the bios and most likely he then did set the boot drive to be NVME in the bios. Anyway this is what I think, maybe all wrong.

The reason that is what I think is I installed a 256GB NVME on the F4-424 (without any hdd) to set it up and did not install any HDD only after TOS 6 was installed.

HELP!!!
f4-424, BIOS MADN0101.V05 TOS 6 was installed on m2 NVMe
In TOS I downloaded TOS7 for future update. However NAS updated without me. Now, when I'm trying to log into web-interface I have error 502 Bad gateway.
In Tnas PC status is ready, but I can't to log in either. What should I do to fix it?
