It has been verified that the upgrade to 4.2.06 ,WOL does not work and is under repair.

can someone just explain what the advantage of WOL is for the nas actually is, why are people using it?

but why would it be off and not just in hibernation mode?

I'm sorry but I don't think I will debate my way of working and why I use this feature which is integrated for example in any network card that equips PCs today. It's a feature proposed in the new firmware, it doesn't work and that's it.

you completely misunderstand, I am not trying to debate but understand why its used compared to the natural behaviour of the nas going into hibernation (I am not disputing that it doesn't work as TM have confirmed it doesn't)

OK sorry. I have NAS that I use to archive data for example, I will not use them for weeks and one day on the move for example, I will need data. I prefer to leave them off and turn them on as needed. Access it through a VPN. Also in the event of an electrical cut. Sometimes the equipment does not restart by itself ect ... Or if you forgot to turn it on before leaving...ect...
