User does not exist

Post by jor3l »

Hi,

I'm trying to log back into my NAS after some time traveling, suddenly my user does not exist, no idea what the admin user password is either and can't seem to change that so I have these questions:

Is my data safe?
Can I reinstall without losing my data?
Should I take my drive out and do a reinstall or my drive needs to be in the NAS for the setup?

Tried searching the forum but is not clear how to recover while logged out of the NAS.

Try using method B; it won't lose data, but you'll need to reinstall and reconfigure the application software and settings.
