Final update. I've now renamed my plex folder.

I can now enable Plex. It created a new plex folder and is starting up. I now need to set up all my libraries again

Checking inside the log folder in the old plex share I cannot see any plex activity at all after I carried out the plex version upgrade. There are no log entries after that point. That feels like the plex enablement process is not getting as far as doing anything that would cause plex to write a log entry (such as "starting"). That feels like a permissions issue stopping plex application from getting to the plex share.

Is there a way to check the logs that get created when you click on "enable" in application center.

I think that something about the upgrade to plex via the App Center has done something that prevents plex from being able to access the plex share.

No similar issues have been observed so far. If you previously had versions of Plex from both manual installation and Plex web updates, it is possible that anomalies may occur. If there is no urgent need for new Plex features, we recommend continuing to use the tested stable version available on the APP Center. We also regularly update in line with the Plex official website.

To be clear about the current scenario; I had a working install of Plex which was the app center version. I only updated this via the app center and after this plex could not be enabled until I have renamed the plex folder.

I have the same issue, which folder do you mean?

How do you rename it?

I had a similar issue with the update, it seems to be something to do with Plex not recognising the newer version plex_TOS_APP_1.41.5.9545_x86_64. I'm running TOS 6.0.450-00165 and had sorted out a few issues with Plex, but the recent update has undone all this work. I deleted the library files in my Plex directory to remove any conflicts from previous versions, after which I could finally access the Plex server page. I noticed that the link between my TNAS and Plex had been broken by the update, the conflict seems to be that Plex does not recognise the update as an 'official' release so will not allow me to claim the server in the Remote Access tab. I downloaded the version of the server from the Plex site PlexMediaServer-1.41.5.9522-a96edc606-x86_64_TOS5 (they offered it as an upgrade), once I uninstalled the latest version and installed this one everything is now working again.
