Is this limitation just limited to the File Management application?File management does contain some prohibited special characters, and we will consider whether the ' character is allowed.
If this is a wider ToS 6 limitation then I can see this causing all sorts of issues anytime a file with that character is accessed.
If this is just limited to the File Management application then I would see that as a fairly significant bug that needs addressing quickly. The file management application needs to be able to work with all valid files on the system.

Re: TOS 6.0.610 (X86) is Released for Update
Just to update on my F5-422. I left it for nearly a day and it was unresponsive. I clicked the power button on the front and it beeped as if closing down but didn't close down. After this it was no longer on the network. After another few hours I have held down the power button to force a shutdown. I have now restarted it and it is back up and running.
The dashboard still says that the volume is synchronising.
The dashboard says that Volume 1 is at 93.8% and the control panel for Volume and Storage pool both say it is at 85.45. These figures should all be the same I think.
Resource Manager Load is between 2 and 3%. Dashboard says 23.75. Still different values and so wrong.
CPU in Resource Manager now matches the Dashboard.
Disk I/O is very active loads of Reads (600-800 MB/S). No writes. I assume that is the correct pattern for a synchronisation.
A lot of the resource manager widgets have buttons for Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, last 30 days. If I move the mouse over these, it turns into a no entry sign and I cannot use those buttons. That feels like a bug. There is a setting to continuously monitor the system which is turned off on my machine (by default). If this disables those buttons then they don't need to be there when that setting is not ticked.
I'm now going to give my NAS some time to complete its synchronisation before I use it again.

Re: TOS 6.0.610 (X86) Fan speed is abnormal
Just updated to 6.0.610 and shorty after got notification to "please check for blockage or malfunctions in the fan" noticed the fan not spinning, went to setting then hardware - Fan , low speed was selected , switched to automatic and APPLY. a few seconds later the fan started. about 30 min later got the same notification when i looked at the setting it was back to LOW. switched to Medium and Apply. then fan turned on. when i closed the setting tab, and went back to check it was back to LOW. it seems the Apply function is not working. and the fan will stop on its own after 30 min and push a notification. fan will stay off until I adjust fan settings. but will go back to LOW regardless.
any suggestions. ? hopefully a fix

Re: TOS 6.0.610 (X86) Fan speed is abnormal
Please try switching the fan mode to "Full Speed" and then observe the fan speed. By the way, what is the BIOS version of your F5-422? You can check the BIOS version by going to TOS Control Panel > General Settings > System > Update > BIOS/InitBoot.Sam5spd wrote: ↑09 Feb 2025, 07:20 Just updated to 6.0.610 and shorty after got notification to "please check for blockage or malfunctions in the fan" noticed the fan not spinning, went to setting then hardware - Fan , low speed was selected , switched to automatic and APPLY. a few seconds later the fan started. about 30 min later got the same notification when i looked at the setting it was back to LOW. switched to Medium and Apply. then fan turned on. when i closed the setting tab, and went back to check it was back to LOW. it seems the Apply function is not working. and the fan will stop on its own after 30 min and push a notification. fan will stay off until I adjust fan settings. but will go back to LOW regardless.

Re: TOS 6.0.610 (X86) is Released for Update
Just a clarification on this; "
Now the synchronisation has finished it becomes clear that what is actually happening on the dashboard is that the volume section is showing the disk space used rather than the progress of the synchronisation. When a synchronisation is running, it replaces the text description, i.e. "Normal 93.8%" with "Synchronising 93.8%". Easy to understand if you are aware of it but maybe could be made a bit clearer.

Regarding this situation that might cause customer misunderstandings, we will look into whether we can make some optimizations in the display.StephenNaylor wrote: ↑09 Feb 2025, 21:24 Now the synchronisation has finished it becomes clear that what is actually happening on the dashboard is that the volume section is showing the disk space used rather than the progress of the synchronisation. Re: TOS 6.0.610 (X86) is Released for Update
I just updated my F5-422 from TOS 5.1.145 to TOS 6.06.10. After update had to reinstall all users and permission as well as defining the shared folders. Also the automatic power on/off setting was lost. As i was facing troubles with the automated power on/off funktion, i will observe further. With the previous release the fan was not working korrekt, got casetemp up to 50 degree c and fan did not turn on. So i manually set it to medium speed hence 53 degree max. i hope for more reliable functions now.
