I have the F4-424 Pro and for the most part it is rock solid. Just be careful if you are attaching an external DAS as there is a power issue resulting in overheated disks

I can easily mount through shell and mount -t cifs
Please refer to the mount example shows on the UI and make sure your information you input is correct.
Attaching 2 screenshots:

1. is when I do the same from terminal and I can mount it successfully
2.t is when trying to mount the folder via GUI (I have proper access to both source and destination folders, password is correct)

I can't mount anything in my network - be it windows machine, WD Cloud, whatever it just always gives the same error.

PS: There was a docker manager update today, after I updated and opened it said docker engine not enabled then chinese letters including the buttons. I enabled it but I lost my containers... This is system is hell and I have 25 years experience in UNIX/Linux system. Many errors are in chinese, logs are in chinese. I'm just a second by returning this unit and getting something else.

The TOS system is not Linux - it is based on Linux. More so now than previously, incidentally, but you still have to understand that you cannot necessarily perform "standard linux functions" as you might expect. If you want 'linux' look at installing an os of your choice. There are several examples of users doing so both here and in other forums. (and, yes, some things are still 'broken' and need to be addressed.)

F2-424 TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (HGST) Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.0777 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Btrfs
F2-425+ TOS7.0.0777 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (EXOS) Traid

Ok so today docker engine died again and all my containers disappeared again on restart. That's too much for me. No need to reply, I bought unRaid.

The "Mount path" you entered is incorrect. Please enter it according to the mount example displayed on the UI.
We will verify the Docker-related issues you encountered. In addition, Could you provide a screenshot of the page displaying Chinese?

My guess is they're pointing out the examples use a local IP address rather than the device name?

Which I did as well with same results, but it should work with the name as well as it does when mounting in shell.

Re: TOS 6.0.577 (X86) is Released for Update - Remote folders

Post by Gremlin »

We went through this, at length, in the following and other posts. I thought it was fixed, but it's not something I use so I don't remember the true outcome. Shame if this is another example of the 'fix' being lost in subsequent renditions of the os.

viewtopic.php?t=5971&hilit=Remote+folder&start=50

(Sorry if it's a long and pointless read, but it is what it is and feelings at the time were "running high").

From which version?
[/quote]

I've spend a lot of time to find way to update F4-422, now I have 6.0.610 version, all fine.
But I know much easy way to find update for all models, syno use it. On web U may take model and current version - got right way to update and files for download :-)
