Hi All,
I have a D5-300 with 5x Toshiba 8tb N300 disks in it.
It has developed a fault where it thinks that Disk 5 is unplugged then inserted. The log in RAID manager shows the unplugged/inserted as happening one after the other. This is without powering the unit off or touching it in any way. It is also powered via a UPS so it is not a power issue.
After the unplugged/inserted event is logged the array then goes into reconstruction state.
It happened a couple of times, I tried swapping disk 5 out for a spare 8tb drive but the same thing happened.
Any suggestions, or is this likely to be a hardware fault with the D5-300 itself?
Thanks in advance!
D5-300 randomly disonnecting disk 5
Re: D5-300 randomly disonnecting disk 5
If possible, please insert the hard drive separately into the slot of disk 5 and check if there is such a phenomenon, in order to investigate whether it is a problem of poor hard drive contact.
Will this phenomenon still occur after recreating the array for all disks.
Additionally, your disk is not on the compatibility list, which could be due to compatibility issues.
