I have an F2-212 setup as follows:
HDD1: 500GB TRAID btrfs - OS disk
HDD2: 2TB TRAID btrfs - media disk
Recently, the 500GB drive where TOS is installed crased. I tired to re-install TOS on it, however, after several boot failures, I decided to get a new 2TB disk to replace it.
After doing a fresh TOS install on the new HDD1 and confirming that it boots and that I am able to login, I shut the system off and inserted HDD2. However, the system would not boot with this configuration. Instead, I get 3 beeps and the OS does not get initialized.
So, I booted into HDD1 and did a hot mount on HDD2. In doing so, the system recognized the drive, but it is not mounted. I can sdb is listed when is do lsblk via terminal, along with the 1.8TB volume sdb4 which is probably where my old media is stored.
How do I mount HDD2 in TOS?
Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
Re: Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
Based on your description, I recommend restarting your device and then checking if HDD2 has been successfully mounted.dennison wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 16:30 I have an F2-212 setup as follows:

If the problem persists after the restart, you can try using these two hard drives to reinstall the operating system.

Re: Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
How many storage pools and volumes did you create? It does not seem logical that you would have OS and media on separate disks under tos5 (Version?). Tos operating system is typically installed across all drives as a raid mirror. So, if one drive crashed you would have to rebuild the array. Re-installation on a single drive may well corrupt the os mirror array.

Tried restarting several times, I just get 3 beeps.TMpraj wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 17:54 Based on your description, I recommend restarting your device and then checking if HDD2 has been successfully mounted.

What difference would it make if I re-install the OS with both drives inserted?
Re: Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
I just replicated my previous setup with OS in HDD1 and media in HDD2.Gremlin wrote: ↑16 Sep 2024, 01:43 How many storage pools and volumes did you create? Re: Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
Sorry, but I am confused by your initial post (and subsequent)
Which version of TOS did you make the fresh install with?
How did you 'replicate' that previous setup?
Did you also buy a new 500Gb drive for HDD1?

Re: Can you mount a TRAID drive in TOS?
Okay, so I raised this with slupport ended up reinstalling TOS on both HDD to be able to accesss the files.
I followed Method B (hot mount from no HDD on boot) outlined on this post: viewtopic.php?t=423
