Fixed:
Disabling SMB and reenabling it solved the read only issue on my NAS that was stopping me from deleting apps and enabling them in the first place. Very odd but it did the trick.

thanks for the feedback. Absolutely agrees on the UPS. Although we have not had micro power cut recently, we used to have them once a week...a tiny second where power was down but enough that all my electronics had to reboot.
