[Discussion] Duple backup restore without TNAS

Post by szum »

Hi,
I'm considering setup with local TNAS and Duple rsync remote backup to third party NAS + local duple backup using rsync to my enigma2 box.
In the event of loosing TNAS (worse case scenario like fire or sth) what is the procedure for recovering data from backups created with Duple backup.
Is there any kind of windows/linux application available that can access backup files and extract data, or would i need to run VM with TOS and run Duple Backup to recover data?

Regards,
szum

Hello, you can back up important folders or iSCSI LUNs from your TNAS to multiple destinations (e.g., remote TNAS devices, file servers, or cloud drives), and it supports incremental backups and multi-version backups with various backup strategies.

1. Regardless of your Windows/Linux system, you can retrieve data via cloud drives or other methods.

2. To back up your TNAS, install Duple Backup Vault on another device; you can use it to restore your data. Installing a TOS virtual machine works on the same principle, but this may require some technical knowledge. For most users, using a second TNAS is recommended. For more usage details, please refer to the Duple Backup Vault user manual.
