[Help]F2-425 Plus: OS location, system reset, and system disk questions

hi
I bought a F2-425 Plus and one HDD (I added it to my forum signature).
Now I have only one HDD installed.
I am using the NAS for the second day. Everything is great so far.
I installed Jellyfin, added music and movies, and I am testing settings, remote access to Jellyfin, etc.
During this, I got a few questions:
1. I just realized that the operating system is installed on the HDD.
If I want to replace the HDD, or if the HDD fails, will I need to initialize the system again?
Do I understand this correctly?
Or is the operating system stored somewhere inside the NAS (for example, on internal memory)?
I am asking because when I change some system settings (for example DNS), I can hear the HDD working, like there is disk activity. I thought system settings should not use the HDD.
2. I am thinking about buying an SSD (250–500 GB) to use it as a system disk.
In this case, do I need to follow the guide from this link, right?

3. If I do a system reset, will my data on the HDD be saved?
I mean movies, music, and TV shows.
Or will the HDD be formatted during a full initialization and all data will be deleted?
Thank you.
