[Help] Can Time Machine backups be put in a Hyper-Lock volume

Post by AGiLiT »

I am intending to create a volume to be used for archival purposes was planning to set it up with the HyperLock-WORM file system enabled. My question is: Can I have the authorized directory for Time Machine backups reside in this volume?

Thanks.

The WORM (Write Once, Read Many) file system on NAS is not suitable as a storage location for Time Machine. Time Machine must be able to modify and delete historical data. The core characteristics of WORM are exactly the opposite: data cannot be modified after being written, and cannot be deleted (within the retention period).
