Applicable Systems: Windows 10 / 11
If you notice significantly reduced write speeds when using the D1 SSD Plus or D1 SSD Pro, it may be because the write cache on some NVMe SSDs is not enabled.
Please follow the steps below to check and enable the write cache to ensure optimal NVMe SSD performance.
How to Enable NVMe SSD Write Caching in Windows
1.Open Control Panel → Device Manager, then locate and expand Disk drives.
2.Double-click your NVMe SSD (its name depends on the brand and capacity) → in the window that appears, switch to the Policies tab.
3.Under Policies, check Better performance and Enable write caching on the device, then click OK to apply.

Test Environment: Windows 11, USB4 port, D1 SSD Plus with Samsung 990 PRO 4TB

The test results show that enabling the write cache can improve write speeds by several times, allowing the NVMe SSD to perform at its full potential.
If you have followed the steps above and still experience abnormal speeds, please also check your USB port version, cable quality, and host system configuration, or contact technical support for further assistance.
