[Help] Sector Size with RAID 5

Post by melissasolberg »

Hello,
I have a Terramaster D5 T3 with five 20TB disks, which should total 100TB. I chose RAID 5 for its file security and efficient read/write speeds, as I work in postproduction.

However, I noticed a significant difference in available space based on the sector size I select when creating the array. Choosing 512B gives me 80TB of space, while selecting 4K results in only 60TB.

Which sector size should I go with?

When creating a RAID mode on the RAID Manager Pro page, please pay attention to selecting the second initialization method: quick format. Additionally, the block size is generally the default and does not need to be selected.
