I have copied a large amount of Photos and Videos to my Terramaster F6-424 Max (roughly 6TB). Everything has been indexed. When opening the Photos application in the Photos view, on the top right it says "Generating thumbnail - please wait. 78.33%" (the percentage does, slowly, increase, so seems to work). Below that, I have a number of around 1'600'000. Total thumbnail generation in the Settings tab is around 58% (video thumbnail generation at around 40%).
However it seems that the thumbnail generation only runs when the application is open, since when I logged out and logged back in 1.5 days later, it did not seem to have made any progress in the meantime.
The total CPU usage hovers around 10%, the whole Terramaster at around 10% Load.
- thumbnailDaemon process at around 5.70 % CPU usage
- Same for indexing a few days ago, the indexing process had around 1 % CPU usage.
I do have HDD hibernation set to 30min, however if thumbnail generation runs it should not go to sleep if i'm correct?
1: Why do both thumbnail generation and media indexing not utilise more CPU resources?
2: How can i make the thumbnail generation run in the background and overnight?
Thank you in advance

Re: [Help] Terramaster Photos Thumbnail Generation not running in background
Usually, thumbnail generation programs can run in the background. It might be due to high load that the CPU usage information you see is delayed. You can check the performance and resource usage of the thumbnail generation process under system information and process monitoring in the control panel.
