Hello,
I have an F5-221 NAS running version 4.2.44. I'd like to upgrade to version 5 or 6. How do I proceed?
There's only one install version, not an update file on site : https://support.terra-master.com/downlo ... uct=F5-221
A hacker is using a vulnerability to change my admin password (it's impossible to deactivate the admin account ..) and delete my applications (Plex, Transmission, Java etc.).
I've on my NAS one 8TB RAID5 (BTRSF file format) with 4 disk 3TB.
I look forward to reading you.
Have a nice day.
Best regards,

As long as you've already backed up your existing data (to restore it later if you still need access to it from the NAS), you can then proceed.darkhades80 wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025, 23:05 … have an F5-221 NAS running version 4.2.44. Would like to upgrade to version 5 or 6. How to proceed?
To setup TOS 5, you'd just need to remove the existing drive(s), start up without them & the TNAS will be in initialization mode again via the current initboot internal USB; follow the instructions to install the most current TOS 5.
Follow this thread to make a new initboot USB to facilitate the installation of TOS 6 (as long as you have an applicable BIOS revision to be able to use the current TOS builds): viewtopic.php?t=6433
You might want to put it into Security Isolation Mode (a feature introduced with TOS 5) after you've finished setting it up, to help prevent the external threat, if you don't need remote access to it: https://www.terra-master.com/global/sec ... tion-mode/

I'm having a similar problem. I haven't been able to log in with my NAS administrator account for a week. I've restored several times, and the same thing keeps happening. When I enable access to TOS from outside, I have the Plex update package to v1.42.1, but when I try to install it from applications and then settings, it gives an error about the incorrect file and I can't update manually. I downloaded the file directly from the Plex website.
My NAS is an F4-210 with TOS 4.2.44.
What can I do or how can I update Plex to fix this problem?
