Hi,
Very new to all this, so apologies if i don't make sense.
I've recently added a second hard drive (20TB) to my nas and I synced it to my orginal hard drive (8TB), but the storage pool is still only showing the capacity as 8TB. Have I done something stupid or wrong? I was hoping to expand my storage space. I've tried googling for a solution but not having much luck. Could someone help me so that I don't end up with a expensive paper weight.
Thanks
Dan
Also le me know if there is anything i need to add to this post to make it make more sense.
[Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Hi Dan, I guess your 8TB and 20TB formed TRAID or RAID 1, you can use RAID caoculator here https://support.terra-master.com/raidca ... n/?lang=en.
If you need 28TB, you can back up data, delete volume and storage pool, then create RAID 0 or 2 single disks

Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Is there a way of removing the 20tb disk without backing up as I dont have any more hard drives to back up to. I've got almost 7tb of data on the smaller hd. I've only got a 2 bay nas as well.
Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Rebuilding the storage pool will format the hard drive, so data backup is necessary. Unfortunately, there is no other way.

Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Whats the best way to backup up this hard drive? Other than copy and paste?
Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Consider using cloud storage services for temporary backup of important data, or transferring some critical data to other storage devices such as USB drives or computer hard drives (provided there is enough capacity), or combining both methods by storing different types of data separately before performing related operations. After completing the operations, restore the data back to the NAS.

Signed up for some cloud based backup storage. Thanks for all the help.

Re: [Help] Added new drive and havent increased storage space
Hello, regarding the NAS hard drive storage capacity issue you mentioned, we first need to clarify two technical details:
1.What type of storage array (e.g., RAID 0, RAID 1, etc.) did you previously configure with the two 20TB hard drives?
2.After adding the third hard drive, what reorganization mode is the current array using?
Here’s how the NAS storage space architecture works:
When multiple hard drives form an array, they create a base storage pool. You then need to create a logical volume on this pool, and finally, shared folders are built on top of the logical volume. When you expand the array by adding a new hard drive, the total capacity of the storage pool will increase accordingly. However, you must manually perform a volume expansion: Go to the volume management page, click the "Edit" button, and complete the capacity adjustment to fully release the additional storage space.
