[Help] Converting to TERRAMASTER D2-320

Post by punchback »

I'm getting a new PC and the old PC has a 2TB mirror connected to the motherboard. I'm wanting to convert it to the subject external enclosure. What would be the steps to accomplish this? Ideally I would just install both disks in the new enclosure and off I go. Am I dreaming this would be the case?

Why couldn't you just put the mirror in you new pc? Similar arguments apply to any other device.

I'm buying a PC that won't make that possible. I'm going from a mini tower to a MINISFORUM UM760 Slim Mini PC. To keep the mirror I'll need to put it in an external enclosure.

You can directly install the 2TB hard drive from your old computer into the D2-320 product for use without any additional operations (such as formatting or partition adjustments). However, to ensure compatibility, please first verify whether the current file system format of the hard drive is one of the following supported types:

Windows systems: NTFS, FAT32, exFAT
macOS systems: APFS, Mac OS Extended (HFS+)
Linux systems: EXT4

Just to be clear, I'll install both of the 2TB HDs in the D2-320 and set it's switch to RAID 1 and it will recognize the mirror?

Hello! Regarding the instructions for installing a 2TB mirrored hard drive (labeled as Hard Drive A) from your computer onto the D2-320 product, please find the details below:

After installing Hard Drive A into the D2-320 product, the device will directly recognize and read the data on the drive. However, if you plan to set up RAID 1 mirroring mode on the D2-320, the process will require formatting both hard drives inside the device. Please note that Hard Drive A will also be formatted during this operation. We recommend backing up your data in advance to prevent any potential data loss.
