[Help] Failed F2-210 to new F2-210 Advice Please

Post by Turbodonkey »

Hello everyone,
I have had a previously used F2-210 running for 6 months or so for Plex streaming (2X4TB running in RAID) that has failed. I was watching a show the other day and it just powered down. Subsequent re powering, with or without drives installed, would result in power up lights as normal, give 2 beeps and then power off. Lots of forum scouring shows that it seems to be a power button failure?
I have since ordered a new F2-210 from Newegg and want to know if I can simply take the drives from the original NAS and put them in the new NAS and just turn it on and be back up and running using tnas pc to get going. Any advice would be appreciated greatly.

If you had set static IP address(es) on the old system, it should be a direct insert of the drives and start-up. If you were using DHCP to allocate IP, you will need to verify the new address(es) as these will be different (due to new MAC addresses of the nic). TNAS-PC is probably the easiest way.

(There should be no need to initialise anything.)
F5-221 TOS7.0.1105 - 4x4TB (Ironwolf) Traid
F2-424 TOS7.0.1105 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (HGST) Traid
F2-221 TOS7.0.1105 - 1x3TB Ext4, 1x4TB Btrfs
F2-425+ TOS7.0.1105 - 2x500GB nvme (P3) Traid, 2x6TB HDD (EXOS) Traid

Thanks, I am using dhcp and assumed I would use tnas pc to find the server when powered up. I just wanted to be sure to put I could the drives in first then power up right? Brand new at the game and dont want to corrupt anything.
