Hello to everyone,

I am about to through my Terramaster F4-421 out of the window, because nothing works as advertised.

Hot swap to increase space ? Took a Terramaster technician twice more than an hour to figure it out !
Replacing a disk and repair the RAID ? Nope, does not work either. I can start it, but it stops right after start, with a green messages, which disappears within seconds.

I have lost on each HDD upgrade my data, so what is going on ?

If I would have known, Terramaster RAID or TRIAD is just that kind of junk, I would opted for a simple DAS enclosure with hardware RIAD and a mini PC and would probably be more than happy and worry free.

So anyone any ideas, why the RIAD repair is not starting ?

May I know what TOS version you are using? what is your current RAID configuration? how many drives? what capacity? replace which size drive?

I have noted your complaints several times, but the existing descriptions do not provide a full understanding of the issue.
Are you referring to that the technical support team has already resolved the problem remotely for you? However, we currently do not have any corresponding remote records.

As of now I had had TOS 5.1.145 with 2x 4TB and 2x 10TB. One of my 10TB disks died on me and yesterday I wanted to replace it with a new 10TB disk. Now it results disk 1 (4TB) has only a 2Gb parition, while the TOS I am using requires a 8GB partition. How come this changed suddenly, when I have operating the TOS operating since it was available ? Tech Support suggest to delete the partion downgrade and upgrade again in order to repair the RAID. Since I donnot have unlimited disk space to make back ups, this means another. Loss of data, just because the OS WAS NOT PROPERLY PROGRAMMED and is simply faulty. How can a disk partition change itself ? Again NOTHING WORKS as advertised and one needs to constantly worry and rather operate 2 complete server just in case one fails ! I am sorry, but I am not a tech guy and just wanted to have a media server, but it seems doing this with Terramaster is not a worry free operation ! So what do you suggest I do ? Start from scratch and try TOS 6 or simply through the NAS drive on the trash, where it belongs, as a personal opinion or what ?

Apparently, you must have either ignored or not followed the instructions concerning update to Tos5.1
Please don't blame the machine for operator failings.

It appears that you have not paid attention to some important notes.
Your two 4TB drives still have the TOS4 partition format, resulting in only 2GB for the system partition.
Your previous attempts at repair or expansion failed due to partition misalignment.
Given that your data volume is relatively small, you can create a new volume on the new 10TB HDD and use folders based on this new volume to back up the data from the TRAID.
Subsequent adjustments will be quite complex, so we can arrange for an engineer to perform remote adjustments for you.
