disks capacity upgrade on f2-424

Guys, could you please confirm that my understanding is correct and I can do this move:

1) I have f2-424 NAS running on TOS 6.0.555
2) I installed TOS 6 initially to 2 nvme disks (512 GB each size) and I see in settings that both nvme drives marked as a "system disk"
3) I added 2 HDD with 2TB size for each one
4) I created traid massive with all 4 disks inside (512 nvme+512 nvme+2tb hdd+2tb hdd)
5) I have around 3 TB space available in my traid massive and happy with that, but....

HDD disks are quite noisy in operation and I decided to change 2 of them to 2 SSDs (2tb each). And the same time think to change 2 nvme 512gb each to 2 nvme 2 tb each and have 4 disks in one traid massive (want to keep user data and dont recreate new raid massives).

Can I go with this migration/upgrade algoritm? :
a) remove 1st system nvme disk from nas, install new 2 tb nvme and make traid recovery. will new first 2 tb nvme become system disk after that?
b) remove 2nd system nvme disk from nas, install new 2 tb nvme and make traid recovery. will new second 2 tb nvme become system disk after that?
c) remove old HDD 2 tb and change to new 2tb ssd, recover traid
d) remove second old 2tb hdd and change to new second 2tb ssd, recover traid
e) be happy with 6tb traid massive

Am I correct that this is the right way to go? :)

Thanks a lot!

This method of operation is not feasible. It is recommended that you install a new disk and manually reinstall the TOS system, and then recreate the array.

imo mixing nvme and hdd in a single raid (of whatever type) is not a good idea.

If it were me, I would create one raid using the nvme with the os (TOS) installed on them as Pool1/Volume1. Remember, this volume will (by default) include your user folders (/home). {Depending on the Pool1 capacity, you could have more than one Volume here.} The typical design would also install all your chosen apps on (this) Volume1.

Create a separate raid Pool2/Volume{2|3|4|n} on the HDD as storage for data.

Good day! in my question above, I refer to the official page about Traid technology: https://www.terra-master.com/global/terramaster-traid

I just wanted to re-confirm that someone in this group did it successfully in reality without user data loose.

I'll write here whether I pass this exam later on when my ssd disks arrive.

tks.

Good day! I fully agree with you. If it were business usage NAS, I would configure raid massive like you mentioned above.

But in my scenario (home NAS for photo storage and seldom usage) I don't see so huge problem to keep that config.
I understand that it could be performance decrease little bit, but dont think that for my usage scenario it will be so significant and really tangible.
But I get additional space to store home users data. thanks for right advice anyway.
