Drive not detected in F2-210

A couple of issues with USB backup on a F2-210. After any kind of power outage (either mains, or manual powering down), my USB HDD (despite spinning up and showing a power light) isn't seen by the TNAS. I have to physically unplug and reconnect the drive each time before the system will see it.
Furthermore, and more annoyingly, the scheduled backup tasks that I have will regularly show "USB device has been removed" and show a backup destination of "USB # /" instead of "USB #1 /directory" as they should. The only way I've found to resolve this is to delete and recreate the backup tasks. Is this a known issue, and will there be any support and development on the Fx-210 devices to resolve this? The drive is a 1TB Samsung Story Station, formatted as ext4.

Sorry for the bad experience. The scheduled task status is related to whether the USB device is mounted or not, if the USB is not mounted, it will show that the USB device is removed. Regarding the backup target display issue, we have fixed it in the latest version of USB Copy. However, the system needs to be TOS 5 and above. The USB Copy app on TOS 4 will not be updated temporarily.

if the USB is not mounted, it will show that the USB device is removed.
The issue is however, that even if the drive is reconnected (and this can be validated by browsing in File Manager, though I don't recommend doing that), the tasks don't appear to reinitialise, and once they're in the "not mounted" status, I've not found any way to get them working again.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Regarding the application updates for the TOS4 system, we currently do not have any updates planned. We recommend upgrading to a newer version of the system to enhance your experience, but unfortunately, the F2-210 is limited to using TOS4. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Is this official acknowledgement that there will be no TOS 5.× for the 210 series devices‽
If so, please make an official announcement @

could be a future update to newer TOS & many have patiently waited for that.

Not only is there no TOS 5, it sounds like there will be no further updates. So all the outstanding issues, including some that they acknowledged over a year ago and were passing to the project team to work on a solution, will remain.
Forget all the extra claimed functionality that the 210's are meant to have. If you want anything other than a basic NAS on your own network, look elsewhere.
