I have recently got a F4-423 and it is running TOS 5.1 (Unsure if it can be updated?). I recently installed Plex today and was wondering if it is possible to access the Plex directory from the Windows network?
I have given the users that need read/write access to it but when navigating via the windows network I can see my user directory and the public directory but no plex directory. If i log into TOS with the user I can view and access the directory which is in the same level as my user and public.
Is there a way to get this to appear on Windows for ease of transferring?
How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
Re: How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
Of course, that's possible. You need to check if the client has access to the plex folder. You can do this by: locating the plex folder in the shared folders, clicking on the edit icon, and then checking which clients are allowed based on the network protocol (SMB or NFS) you are using.Phyore wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 04:31 I have recently got a F4-423 and it is running TOS 5.1 (Unsure if it can be updated?). Re: How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
Currently all the permissions look the same as the public directory so my user for example has read/write.TMnick wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 10:48 Of course, that's possible. Under NFS it is: Client: *, Permissions: Read/Write, Squash: No mapping, Asynchronous: Enabled
Under SMB: Client: *, Permissions: Allow
Same as what the public directory shows. I haven't done any modifications since the install of Plex either.
Re: How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
Also when FTPing into the NAS I cannot see the plex directory
Re: How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
Solved... Despite the permission for the user being ticked for Read/Write, I switched it to Read Only and then back to Read/Write and now it shows up!

Re: How to find Plex directory within the Windows Network?
As mentioned above it seemed to be a permission issue.
When I installed Plex the permissions on that directory was set to read/write for the users I made. However it wasn't showing, updating the permissions to read only and back to read/write made the directory show and accessible
