public folder on Volume1 (TOS5)

Post by McCoder67 »

I have a shared folder on Volume1 called public

i can't remember having made it myself , but in any case i can't remove it , so i guess it's created by the system ?

problem is that Volume1 is a 256GB Nvme reserved for TOS , apps and VMs , and i would really like for the public folder to be on either Volume2 or Volume3 , can it be done ?

in desperation i tried creating a symlink in public pointing to a folder on another volume, and it works fine in SSH and TOS Web file manager , but it can't be seen from my win10 PC , the other folders in public i created for testing works fine, but only the symlink folder isn't visible

Thanks :)

I had actually played around with the "restore shared folder" function, but it didn't seem to do anything , and after reading your thread, i ended up doing the same as use and use NASPublic instead , but it isn't ideal :(

In TOS6, you can redefine the location (volume) of the public.
Note that if the target volume already has invisible publics containing data, it is recommended that you try to back up the data first.
If you need to upgrade to TOS6, please pay attention to the update announcement.viewforum.php?f=28
