You can insert the SSD to your TNAS at power on stage, and then go to Volume at TOS storage manager to enable SSD cache. Please do not create storage pool for your SSD.

TNAS should support all SSDs that comply with the SATA standard. But we have not tested all the model and cannot give a definite answer.
