Best way to do a clean install? F5-221 / TOS 6

Post by jaz000 »

My F5-221 is still on TOS4, has a small root partition and several other configuration mistakes.

What is the best way to do a clean install of TOS6 with a clean configuration? Wiping all data on the storage drives is OK and probably a good idea as it's currently raid 5 and it would be nice to undo that ...

thanks

Couple of issues you may face:
There are no installation files currently available for -221 models to perform a clean install of Tos6.
At one point @TMSupport indicated that -221 models over a certain age would not be compatible with the TOS6-0-420 upgrade. No further details were forthcoming. (I don't remember the exact date but it worked out to something like week 21 of 2020. I know my -221 was too old when I checked at the time (week 17) but it then died, so I didn't follow that up. It was running an earlier version of TOS6 at the time.......).
Despite TOS6 now being an 'Official Release' there are still unresolved issues for some users, so might not be a good time to upgrade to TOS6.
