unable to select movie directory using Jellyfin

Post by JonRando »

F8 SSD Plus running TOS 6.0.507-00129

I installed Jellyfin using the manual installation button in the application center. I launch the JellyFin web config. I setup a user name, password, etc.

I'm having an issue where you define libraries: music, movies, photos, etc.

When attempting to find the Movie directory on the NAS, I can't drill down far enough. Meaning, my movies are stored on /volume1/public/Movies.
In the Jellyfin browse window, I can only get as far as /volume1/public (no sub directories are listed) and no movies are found. I've tried re-indexing the media stuff 2x with no luck.

Anything obvious that I am missing?

Uncle! I've tried re-indexing, add a shared folder on root, granting permissions, uninstall\reinstall, delete config files. Fubarred. No-go.

Have you assigned permission for jellyfin user to your media folder? And is better to ask support on the Jellyfin app post instead of creating a new one. The last 3 replies will probably give you a hint to your issue.

It sounds like a permissions issue; ensure Jellyfin has access to the subdirectories under `/volume1/public` where your movies are stored.
