D5-300C drives spin down, fans not, on linux

Post by Rolli »

I am using the D5-300C in combination with a mini PC. On windows 11 the drives follow the power settings and after all the drives spin down also the fans of the box go idle.

I noticed that on Linux (Debian 12) even if all the drives spin down the fans never stop spinning.
Is there a way to send the whole box to standby after all drives go idle and wake on access to the drives?

I have the same problem. They suggest to use the original power adapter and the original cable, tho i'm using an USB-C to USB-A 3.2 adapter because i haven't got the USB-C in that server. Altough i don't think that is an issue, because with the original cable without the adapter in another machine, i get the same issues. I wondered about the disks are well-pulled in (and i think they are), but at this point i think there must be an issue with the power button or something like that. Tho, not sure. Maybe i'll return thos d4-320 and but an F4 (NAS instead of DAS).
