Best solution for photo backup and how to install?

Post by SquarePeg »

Hi all

I have recently installed TOS5 and I am trying to find an alternative to Google Photos. Can anyone recommend a good application and also how to install? I have tried to install NextCloud via Docker but the container keeps failing when I try to launch it.
Can someone help please?

Thanks

You can install Terra Photo on your TNAS, and install TNAS mobile app on your mobile phone.

What version of TOS5 are you using?
Terra Photo can only be obtained on higher TOS5 versions now.

Perhaps you can try clearing the browser cache or updating to the latest TOS 5.1.131:
viewtopic.php?t=6124

Observing that you are using the TNAS model from the TOS4 period, if you want to update to TOS 5.1.131, please determine if it meets the conditions for updating to change the TOS5 version:viewtopic.php?t=4912

PhotoPrism is a high-quality, sharp photo backup application. The steps to install PhotoPrism include: installing Docker, creating a storage directory, running the container, and accessing it via a browser. Hope you have a successful installation.

I actually wrote a quick guide to get you setup with Immich, which is a Google Photos clone and my personal favourite solution. You can check it out here: https://github.com/lucasengel/tos-guides

Why not give our Terra Photos a try? It's more convenient to install and use, and we will be rolling out a major upgrade to the AI facial recognition feature in the upcoming version. Stay tuned!
