New router, cannot access TNAS anymore

Post by terrablaster »

Hello, new here so hopefully this is the right place.

I hooked up a new router a few months ago, which assigned a new IP to my TNAS F2-423. My problem is, my desktop can no longer access it by IP or the domain name given to it.

- The router does seem to see it as "Noon Technology Co Ltd", and it does have an IP. The router is ASUS Gaming AX4200
- I tried accessing or seeing it through TNAS desktop app 5.1, even disabling the firewall, and allowing the app to access both private and public network, no luck.
- http://tnas.local/ is also no longer accessible
- I gave a specific port to the TNAS, no longer works as well.
- I have hooked an HDMI cable up, but I just get a terminal window with some output "NIC link is up 1000 MB...". I was hoping this would get me to the actual TNAS desktop app?

What am I missing here? I have multiple computers and tried to access it. No luck.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Could you please provide a screenshot of the terminal window for HDMI output?

Attached the image of what's output. It appears in the upper left most part of the TV, not the entire screen.

Using OCR with some minor fixes, maybe will be useful/searchable for someone else some day.

Not sure if anyone has any recommendations?

From the hourly content of the screen, it appears that the NIC is running and TOS can be accessed normally.
You can check the IP by connecting the USB keyboard again, logging in and typing the following command.

Code: Select all

ifconfig
If you still can't find the IP or the IP is not available. Maybe you can refer to this to adjust your network settings:

and your time settings are not set up correctly {presuming that is a current screen grab} showing about 4 years slow and an unrecognised ntp centre. That can screw with some stuff.

So log in is going to be an issue. The password only allows 60 seconds to type in and I chose a 100 character random password that is almost impossible to get in under 60 seconds. I tried around two dozen times. It will have to be a perfect speed run to get it in. I have a separate account with non-admin permissions but it seems the admin account is required. I will know for the future that this is a thing and to choose a simpler password.

I also checked out the https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=1224 and DHCP is enabled but the NAS no longer shows up for some reason as connected.

Any other options?
