Annoying "HD temperature is too high"

Post by Vaulenst »

Hi,

after update my F4-423 from tos 5.1.95 to 5.1.123, to be ready to install tos 6 when it will be over public beta, I got an annoying notice which continuously tells my HDD have high temperature.

This happens beause among my drives I have an nvme which works at a higher temp than the other standard mechanic hdd drives.

I remember I could suppress that raising the hdd warning temp: I couldn't find the value for every single hdd (as I was expecting) but still there was a single value for all hdd...

Now I can't find anymore where it was... I could only de-activate the buzzer for overheat.

Any suggestions?

Please connect and log in to F4-423 via SSH/Telnet protocol:
viewtopic.php?t=2350
Then enter the following command to check the relevant parameters and status of sdza:

Code: Select all

nvme smart-log /dev/sdza
smartctl -d nvme -iH /dev/sdza
Then copy and paste output infomation the here for us to check.

Additionally, you may consider installing heat sinks on the SSD to reduce temperature. (The thickness of the heat sink cannot exceed 3mm)

There's something wrong... after update, from the GUI I can't see any app installed: I see only plex which says it have to be upgraded, but if I try, it ends with an error.
The app installation volume I configured (Volume1 which is the nvme drive) is no more selectable: only volumes from 2 to 5.
No app is running (web server, qbittorrent, plex, jellyfin, ...).

Seems only samba shares are working.

Sorry, i made a mistake. You should enter "nvme" instead of "mvne".
Regarding the situation you mentioned, it may be due to an error in the storage structure or hard drive of volume1.
We suggest that you contact the technical support email or customer service window on the official website and provide them with the system report zip for inspection.(TOS > Technology Support > Report Issues)

I didn't find any abnormal conditions from it. It's very likely that your SSD is overheating, you can consider adding a heat sink.
