Hello everyone !
With the new public release of TOS6 beta, will there be more 5.1 updates?

Thanks for your work

A few releases continued on the previous builds until a few releases out of beta for the newer TOS build; would expect that this remains the case.

Previously, once there was an .INS file to do a fresh installation of the newest TOS build for the majority of the TNAS devices, Terra-Master slowed development for previous builds.

The current, now public TOS 6 beta still requires this thread's build to be installed prior to upgrading.

We accidentally observed a similar situation on individual equipment in the laboratory, and the specific cause is currently being investigated.
You can try to fix it by entering the following command through a custom task schedule or SSH connection:
viewtopic.php?t=2350

Code: Select all

ln -s /Volume1/\@apps/qbittorrent/init.d/service /etc/init.d/qbittorrent

Greetings to all

I would like to know where I can download the initial installation file for this version of TOS. Right now I have managed to configure my nas with everything I want it for and it also does it perfectly!! I had never gotten it before since I bought it. That's why I'm saving the installation files so that when it breaks, I can leave it back as it was.

Thanks for your work.

Are you referring to the system installation package for TOS 5.1.123?
You can obtain it from the download center on the TerraMaster official website:
https://support.terra-master.com/download

There is no installation package yet for TOS6. You have to start at TOS5 and install the TOS6 update. This has been requested previously, but, presumably, is being held back to save the developers having to resolve even more issues.

Thank you all for your help, what I wanted is what JakeF150 answered. In the download area only version 5.0.176 appears (for my F2-221 model)

All the best

Upgrading from an old model of TOS4 to TOS5 is not easy, and only a portion of users wish to upgrade to TOS5, while the latest installation package cannot be directly used by the old model. Therefore, we cannot place installation packages under this model in the download center that most devices cannot use.

Is this something that has been discovered since the initial Beta release? At that time 5.1.95 was the starting point no restriction was mentioned Fn-221 models as far as I am aware. I have also used 5.1.123 for initialization, so I am not sure I understand or believe your contention. Alternatively, does the ability to use newer initialization packages maybe depend on the init-boot version the model was shipped with and the same version may have different versions shipped over time. I think some clarity is required rather than blanket assertions.
