Trouble installing/enabling Multimedia Server

Hi there.
Complete newbie here. I've tried following guides on youtube and through the TerraMaster website, but I keep getting stuck at the same point.
I open the App and am presented with the 'General' Tab. I click on the box that Enables Multimedia Server and immediately get a popup window that says 'Tips - The changes have not been saved, are you sure you want to leave?'. I can click 'Save', 'Cancel', or 'Confirm', but nothing happens. The popup window just appears again, giving me the same options.
I've tried clicking on other boxes and got the same response.
The only way to get out of the pop-up is to close the app.
I've tried re-installing it, but the same thing happens every time.
I'm clearly doing something wrong, or haven't set something up right to begin with.
Does anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Please tell us the TNAS model and TOS version you are using.
Please try clearing the browser cache or restarting TNAS. And tell us if it works.

Hi, same trouble here on my F2-221 running TOS 5.1.131.

I tried both clearing browser cache AND restarting TNAS, but the problem is still there.
I see many users succeeded to install and use Multimedia Server, I don't understand what's wrong...

We noticed that you are running TOS5 using an old model. Please check if you are using storage structures from TOS4 and encountering these issues:

There may be missing library files, you can try resetting all library files at the command terminal (HDMI/SSH/Telnet):
viewtopic.php?t=2350

Code: Select all

cd /usr/lib
ter_wget https://download2.terra-master.com/lib.so.bz2
tar -xf lib.so.bz2
/usr/sbin/CheckSystem -init
reboot

Well, I'm not using TOS4 storage structures, so I don't have the partition issue.

I tried resetting libraries, but at the second line of the code I receive this error:

--2024-06-22 11:43:01-- https://download2.terra-master.com/lib.so.bz2
Resolving download2.terra-master.com... 163.181.50.221, 163.181.50.222, 163.181.50.224, ...

Maybe wrong link?

Little update:
I was able to reset all library files as you suggested: I just manually downloaded and copied the file lib.so.bz2 and used rest of code. Operation succeeded but nothing changed.

Please change the https in the second line of the code to http and try again.

It didn't work, same error.

As I wrote in my last post, I was able to manually download the file via web, I put it in /usr/lib folder and follow the code from the third line, but I still can't enable the Multimedia Server

I reinstalled TOS 5, the issue is still there: I can't enable Multimedia Server?

Is there a fix? Anything I do generate the screen I just posted...

According to our observation and users' feedback, the problem may be caused by browser incompatibility or computer settings. We have not been able to find a specific cause for this problem.
Perhaps you could try changing your browser.
