Tested Technology is getting together a supplement to its four-part story of TOS 5 on an F4-223. We're hoping to report on the installation of a pair of NVMe drives together with the use of the NAS's two 2.5Gb/s Ethernet ports bonded using LACP.

We've had some success with the NVMe installation and the port bonding and thought it might be a good idea to see if Speedtest from the Community Forum would be useful in this context. This turns out to have been a mistake.

We successfully installed Speedtest version 1.2306060.0 but attempting to run it using the Enable button produced an "Operation Failed!" warning. At this point we lost LAN contact with the NAS.

Rebooting the NAS has left it in the same state, apparently without an IP address we're able to reach. It's not accessible at its static IP address and TNAS PC can't find it on the LAN. We hoped to be able to investigate by attaching a monitor to the HDMI port but that isn't showing us anything at all.

We'd like to be able to get into the NAS, uninstall Speedtest and get on with our supplemental story. There must be a procedure for dealing with situations like this. Can anybody help?

A couple of hours later and the NAS is back on the LAN. The annoying thing is, We don't know how this happened. Something we did? A function of having done several reboots?

Whatever the case, it would be useful to know what the official procedure should be when the NAS disappears from the LAN. Attach a keyboard and screen? Reboot into a system empty of drives?

Ideas and suggestions welcome.
