D5-300C MacOS power issues when docked

Post by seanp »

Hi,

I've just upgraded my mac, and moved to a Caldigit TS3+ dock. I'm getting the following notification

"USB Accessory Needs Power
Connect "ASM107x" to a USB port on this Mac."

If I plug it directly into the MacBook Pro, everything works OK. Surprised that the caddy needs a lot of power from the USB port. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi seanp,
TerraMaster D5-300C was designed with a stardard USB bus power consumption, but I am not sure if your dock did so? Or when you plug more USB devices to your dock, that may consume more bus power.

By the way, we are not recommanded you connecting your TerraMaster device to a hub or a dock. Here is the important article you should read: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=448
