Terramaster F2-210 - disconnecting and not reconnecting

Ok - I see masses of reports on this, yet no matter what I do it keeps reverting.
There must be a solid fix for this or its going in the bin.
My F2-210 stays connected for an inconsistent time, then I cant get access.
Ive tried the a fixed IP , done.
Ive updated the windows system to have SMB 1.0 ( and all ) on
firewall on and off
Ive switched it on and off, unplugged the power, waited and plugged it back in again.
Sky router checked ok
hard drives are red series
One of the only things that works is unplugging the LAN cable from the router, plugging it into my desktop, then TNAS finds it. But I cannot log onto it with the TOS, or find it in windows explorer
I then unplug the network cable, plug it back into my router and BANG - access granted.
Any ideas before I start moving all my files and binning this thing.
